Matthias Hennig awarded EC grant to investigate neural coding in the retina, RA needed

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral researcher in computational neuroscience to join the research group of Matthias Hennig in the Institute for Adaptive and Neural Computation at the University of Edinburgh (UK). The position is part of the EU project RENVISION in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Technology (Genova, Italy), Newcastle University (UK) and the Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique (Nice, France).

You will be a self-motivated individual with the ability to take day-to-day responsibility for the progress of the proposed work. You will have a first degree in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering or Computer Science and a PhD in Computational Neuroscience, Machine Learning or a closely-related discipline. A strong analytical background, a keen interest in neuroscience and the ability to closely collaborate with the experimental partners in the project are essential. Background knowledge in visual neuroscience and/or the analysis of electrophysiological data are desirable.

The post is fixed term until 29th February 2016 and is available from 1st March 2013.
